Gems From My First Blogging World

The other day a friend and I were talking about a past roommate we had. We wanted to contact her but had no way of knowing where to look. I then remembered long ago when Myspace was all the rage, we were friends there and possibly I could get her contact information. After a half hour of trying to remember passwords and getting logged in, I was disappointed to find that she was no longer on Myspace. However, I found a series of posts that I had written my sophmore year of college 2005! Amazing things I had totally forgotten about. So before I deleted my Myspace account I copied and pasted these posts into Word. My personal favorite is below, ENJOY!

MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASERS

I just want to put this out there. One of my favorite products of all time is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I swear by these things. They can get anything off of anything. If you have never tried one, DO IT. You won't regret it, and if you do I'm sure if you wrote a nasty enough letter to Procter & Gamble the people that own Mr. Clean they would give you some really nice coupons. But what do you have to lose besides $2, I think you can live without those two jr. bacon cheeseburgers so you can have the Mr. Clean Eraser, so that you can get your $200 cleaning deposit back from your landlord. So my advice to you is to get down to your local Wal-mart and get yourself some Mr. Clean Erasers and start erasing all of those bad cooking memories from your kitchen walls. Believe me you'll love them!

Back to the Grind

So i'm starting my last semester at SUU. In a way I didn't want Christmas break to end, for the mere fact that it was Christmas break, but it also meant the beginning of the end! Facing the real world is a little bit scary especially when you aren't really sure what you want to be doing. But the day came, and I showed up on campus, a little less bright eyed and bushy tailed as the freshmen, but determined to have a good attitude and trying to be a little more social than before. So after only a half a week, I've made my assesment! Classes are fine, nothing too exciting in that department, just the same old hippie professors and 15 students, Except for my film class. I needed one extra class in order to have 12 credits, so this one sounded interesting. It should be a good class, but the mix of people in there is real interesting. Let me break it down row by row.

Back Row: A few macho guys and the emo girls. These people aren't sure why they are at college and they needed some kind of art credit, so this seemed like a good option.

Second to last row: These people feel like they want to be here, but are pulled to the back of the classroom by peer pressure and are slightly intimidated by the class. They think they can avoid being noticed, however, most clever professors know this about second to back rowers and usually make a point of calling on them randomly throughout the class, asking for useless tidbits of information.

Middle Row: These people are moderately interested in the class, have found their footing as a college student and will do the neccessary preparation to contribute to class discussions. They also happen to be the funniest people in the class.

Second Row: The trying to know it all. They have realized that sitting on the front row comes off as a little strong, so they have resorted to the second row. But everyone sees right through it. This also creates a buffer between the student and professor. They typically are pretty smart people and do well in the class.

First Row: Do I really need to say anything?

Anyway, The joys of going to school, While I will really miss these types of classes, it will be time to move on. But I still have a whole semseter to soak up all of these experiences. I mean nothing cures the mid-week school blues like a stroll through the student center!
